Iris Žeželj is full professor of social psychology at the University of Belgrade. She is exploring different forms of biases, especially self-enhancing and group enhancing ones. In the domain of intergroup relationships, she is studying complex social identities, relationships between majorities and minorities, the role of history in identity building. More recently, she became preoccupied with irrational/epistemologically suspect beliefs (e.g. conspiratorial, pseudoscientific), especially in the domain of health, and their relation to questionable health practices that can be deceptive or downright dangerous.
