Scientific Committee

Dr. Eleni Karayianni is the Director of the University of Cyprus Mental Health Centre. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (UK), and a Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology (USA). She is a registered clinical psychologist with the Cyprus Psychologists’ Registration Council. She worked in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cyprus as Clinical Training Coordinator in the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology for 17 years. Her clinical and research experience covers a wide range of age groups and psychological difficulties in the field of prevention/early intervention, psychotherapy, program development and evaluation, as well as profession regulation. She has collaborated as expert trainer or consultant with several organizations such as the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture, the Cyprus Social Welfare Services, the Cyprus Police Academy, the Council of Europe, and Childlight – Global Child Safety Institute at the University of Edinburgh. She has served on the Board of the Cyprus Psychologists’ Association as Treasurer, Vice-President, and President, and as an elected member of the Executive Council of the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations.
