Maria Ioannou has a BA in Psychology (University of Cyprus), an MSc in Psychological Research and a PhD in Social Psychology (University of Oxford). From 2016 to 2023 she worked at the University College Groningen. She joined the University of Cyprus in 2024 as a lecturer. Her research interests lie in the design and assessment of psychological interventions aiming at prejudice reduction drawing on the framework of intergroup contact. She has published her work in international refereed journals and is currently serving as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Social Psychology.
